Terms Used In Ohio Code 2741.04

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Intestate: Dying without leaving a will.
  • Persona: means an individual's name, voice, signature, photograph, image, likeness, or distinctive appearance, if any of these aspects have commercial value. See Ohio Code 2741.01
  • Personal property: All property that is not real property.
  • Property: means real and personal property. See Ohio Code 1.59
  • Right of publicity: means the property right in an individual's persona to use the individual's persona for a commercial purpose. See Ohio Code 2741.01
  • state: means the state of Ohio. See Ohio Code 1.59
