(A) Except as provided in division (B) of this section, no person shall operate any of the following, unless the person holds the appropriate license issued under this chapter and the license is valid:
Terms Used In Ohio Code 3711.02
- Maternity home: means a facility for pregnant girls and women where accommodations, medical care, and social services are provided during the prenatal and postpartal periods. See Ohio Code 3711.01
- Maternity unit: means a distinct portion of a hospital in which inpatient care is provided to women during all or part of the maternity cycle. See Ohio Code 3711.01
- Newborn care nursery: means a distinct portion of a hospital in which inpatient care is provided to infants. See Ohio Code 3711.01
- Person: includes an individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, and association. See Ohio Code 1.59
(1) A maternity unit;
(2) A newborn care nursery;
(3) A maternity home.
(B) Division (A) of this section does not apply to a health care facility, as defined in section 3702.30 of the Revised Code.
