Any person owning or operating any elevator subject to this chapter shall file a written report with the superintendent of industrial compliance within seventy-two hours after the occurrence of any accident involving such elevator which results in death or bodily injury to any person.

Terms Used In Ohio Code 4105.191

  • Elevator: includes dumb-waiters other than hand-powered dumb-waiters, escalators, manlifts, moving walks, of the endless belt type, other lifting or lowering apparatus permanently installed on or between rails or guides, and all equipment, machinery, and construction related to any elevator; but does not include construction hoists and other similar temporary lifting or lowering apparatuses, ski lifts, chairlifts installed in a private residence, a lifting device installed in a showroom for demonstration purposes only, traveling, portable amusement rides or devices that are not affixed to a permanent foundation, or nonportable amusement rides or devices that are affixed to a permanent foundation.   • Person: includes an individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, and association. See Ohio Code 1.59
