The treasurer of state shall be custodian of the state insurance fund, the occupational disease fund. The treasurer shall pay disbursements from the funds upon warrants drawn by the bureau of workers’ compensation and signed by the administrator of workers’ compensation. The warrants may bear the facsimile signature of the administrator printed thereon, or the facsimile signature printed thereon of the employee of the bureau charged with the duty of keeping the account of the funds and with the preparation of warrants for the payment of compensation to the persons entitled thereto.

Terms Used In Ohio Code 4123.42

  • Bond: includes an undertaking. See Ohio Code 1.02
  • employee: includes the following persons when responding to an inherently dangerous situation that calls for an immediate response on the part of the person, regardless of whether the person is within the limits of the jurisdiction of the person's regular employment or voluntary service when responding, on the condition that the person responds to the situation as the person otherwise would if the person were on duty in the person's jurisdiction:

    (i) Off-duty peace officers. See Ohio Code 4123.01

  • Occupational disease: means a disease contracted in the course of employment, which by its causes and the characteristics of its manifestation or the condition of the employment results in a hazard which distinguishes the employment in character from employment generally, and the employment creates a risk of contracting the disease in greater degree and in a different manner from the public in general. See Ohio Code 4123.01
  • state: means the state of Ohio. See Ohio Code 1.59

The treasurer of state shall give a separate and additional bond, in the amount fixed by the governor and with sureties to his approval, conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties as custodian of the state insurance fund. The bond shall be deposited with the secretary of state and kept in his office. The bureau shall pay the premium on the bond.
