Ohio Code 4509.291 – Cooperation with other states
(A) When a nonresident’s operating privilege is suspended pursuant to section 4509.101, 4509.17, or 4509.24 of the Revised Code for a violation of any provision of sections 4509.01 to 4509.78 of the Revised Code, the registrar of motor vehicles shall transmit a certified copy of the record of such action to the official in charge of the issuance of licenses and registration certificates in the state in which such nonresident resides, if the law of such other state provides for action in relation thereto similar to the provision set forth in division (B) of this section.

- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Person: includes an individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, and association. See Ohio Code 1.59
- state: means the state of Ohio. See Ohio Code 1.59
- suspension: means the permanent or temporary withdrawal, by action of a court or the bureau of motor vehicles, of a driver's license, commercial driver's license, temporary instruction permit, probationary license, or nonresident operating privilege for the period of the suspension or the permanent or temporary withdrawal of the privilege to obtain a license, permit, or privilege of that type for the period of the suspension. (B) Upon receipt of a certification that the operating privilege of a resident of this state has been suspended or revoked in any other state pursuant to a law providing for its suspension or revocation for failure to deposit security for the payment of judgments arising out of a motor vehicle accident or failure to give proof of financial responsibility, under circumstances which would require the registrar to suspend a nonresident’s operating privilege had the accident occurred in this state, the registrar shall impose a class F suspension of the person‘s driver’s license, commercial driver’s license, temporary instruction permit, probationary license, or nonresident operating privilege for the period of time specified in division (B)(6) of section 4510.02 of the Revised Code on the person and all registrations of such resident. Such suspension shall continue until such resident furnishes evidence of the person’s compliance with the law of such other state relating to the deposit of such security or to the giving of proof of financial responsibility.
