The state cosmetology and barber board may adopt rules in accordance with section 4713.08 of the Revised Code to establish a continuing education requirement, not to exceed eight hours in a biennial licensing period, as a condition of renewal for a practicing license, advanced license, instructor license, or boutique services registration. These hours may include training in identifying and addressing the crime of trafficking in persons as described in section 2905.32 of the Revised Code. At least two of the eight hours of the continuing education requirement must be achieved in courses concerning safety and sanitation, and at least one hour of the eight hours of the continuing education requirement must be achieved in courses concerning law and rule updates.
