The department of job and family services may apply to the United States secretary of health and human services for a federal grant under the “Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act,” 42 U.S.C. § 5116, and the “Family First Prevention Services Act,” 42 U.S.C. § 50711, 50723, and 50741, to assist children’s crisis care facilities certified under section 5103.13 of the Revised Code in providing temporary residential and other care to preteens.
