Terms Used In Ohio Code > Chapter 3726 - Disposition of Fetal Remains From Surgical Abortion
- Abortion facility: means any of the following in which abortions are induced or performed:
(1) Ambulatory surgical facility as defined in section 3702. See Ohio Code 3726.01
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- Fetal remains: means the product of human conception that has been aborted. See Ohio Code 3726.01
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- in writing: includes any representation of words, letters, symbols, or figures; this provision does not affect any law relating to signatures. See Ohio Code 1.59
- Interment: means the burial or entombment of fetal remains. See Ohio Code 3726.01
- Person: includes an individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, and association. See Ohio Code 1.59
- Whoever: includes all persons, natural and artificial; partners; principals, agents, and employees; and all officials, public or private. See Ohio Code 1.02
