- Administrative agency: means , with respect to a home and community-based services medicaid waiver component, the department of medicaid or, if a state agency or political subdivision contracts with the department under section 5162. See Ohio Code 5166.01
- Another: when used to designate the owner of property which is the subject of an offense, includes not only natural persons but also every other owner of property. See Ohio Code 1.02
- Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Child: includes child by adoption. See Ohio Code 1.59
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- Home and community-based services medicaid waiver component: means a medicaid waiver component under which home and community-based services are provided as an alternative to hospital services, nursing facility services, or ICF/IID services. See Ohio Code 5166.01
- Internet: means the international computer network of both federal and nonfederal interoperable packet switched data networks, including the graphical subnetwork known as the world wide web. See Ohio Code 1.59
- Level of care determination: means a determination of whether an individual needs the level of care provided by a hospital, nursing facility, or ICF/IID and whether the individual, if determined to need that level of care, would receive hospital services, nursing facility services, or ICF/IID services if not for a home and community-based services medicaid waiver component. See Ohio Code 5166.01
- Medicaid waiver component: means a component of the medicaid program authorized by a waiver granted by the United States department of health and human services under section 1115 or 1915 of the "Social Security Act" 42 U. See Ohio Code 5166.01
- Ohio home care waiver program: means the home and community-based services medicaid waiver component that is known as Ohio home care and was created pursuant to section 5166. See Ohio Code 5166.01
- Person: includes an individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, and association. See Ohio Code 1.59
- Residential treatment facility: means a residential facility licensed by the department of mental health and addiction services under section 5119. See Ohio Code 5166.01
- state: means the state of Ohio. See Ohio Code 1.59
- United States: includes all the states. See Ohio Code 1.59
