(1) Unless otherwise specifically provided, justice courts have concurrent jurisdiction in the first instance with circuit courts of all offenses under the commercial fishing laws.

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 506.535

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100

(2) Any action or proceedings under the commercial fishing laws shall be commenced on order of the State Fish and Wildlife Commission or a person duly authorized to enforce such laws, or by any district attorney, in the county in which the offense is alleged to have been committed.
