The board shall fix a reasonable time for the hearing of the appeal, give public notice and due notice to the parties in interest, and decide the appeal within a reasonable time. Upon the hearing, any party may appear in person, by agent, or by attorney.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 1-3-23
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Person: means any individual, firm, co-partnership, corporation, company, association, joint stock association, or body politic, and includes any trustee, receiver, assignee or other similar representative. See Rhode Island General Laws 1-3-2
