Every person, firm, partnership, or corporation violating § 21-20-1 shall be fined not less than twenty dollars ($20.00) and not more than fifty dollars ($50.00), one-half (½) of the fine to the use of the city or town where the offense was committed and one-half (½) of the fine to the use of the state.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 21-20-2
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
