(a) Any person who gives advance notice of any inspection to be conducted under this chapter, without authority from the director of labor and training, shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment for not more than one year, or by both.

- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Director: means the director of health or his or her duly authorized representative. See Rhode Island General Laws 23-1.1-1
- person: may be construed to extend to and include co-partnerships and bodies corporate and politic. See Rhode Island General Laws 43-3-6
(b) All other penalties shall be assessed in accordance with § 28-20-18.
