If any provision of this chapter, or its application to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of the chapter, and the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected by the invalidity.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 28-18-18
- Person: means an individual, corporation, partnership, association, firm, trustee, receiver, and assignee for the benefit of creditors or corporations, except charitable organizations. See Rhode Island General Laws 28-18-2
- Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
