In addition to any other rights provided by state or federal laws, an applicant, as defined in this chapter, shall be entitled to:
(1) Notification in a timely manner regarding his or her application;
(2) Receive information regarding the appeal process;
(3) Receive information regarding the scope and availability of services.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 40.1-26-3.1
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Applicant: means any person with a developmental disability who has applied for services from the division of developmental disabilities and/or any agency licensed by the department of behavioral healthcare, developmental disabilities and hospitals pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws 40.1-26-2
