The licensing authorities of any town or city may authorize amateur athletic games to be played or held in a town or city between the hours of noon and six o’clock (6:00) in the afternoon of the first day of the week upon such premises and subject to such rules and regulations for the preservation of good order and the prevention of disturbances, as the licensing authorities may prescribe and determine in their discretion.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 41-6-2
- Licensing authorities: as used in this chapter shall be construed to mean and include the board or bureau of police commissioners, or the city or town councils of any city or town authorized under the provisions of chapter 22 of Title 5 to grant licenses for shows and exhibitions. See Rhode Island General Laws 41-6-1
- town: may be construed to include city; the words "town council" include city council; the words "town clerk" include city clerk; the words "ward clerk" include clerk of election district; the words "town treasurer" include city treasurer; and the words "town sergeant" include city sergeant.
