Terms Used In South Carolina Code 40-29-180
- Consumer: means a person who in good faith purchases a manufactured home or mobile home for purposes other than resale. See South Carolina Code 40-29-20
- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Person: means an individual, natural person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, legal representative, or other recognized legal entity. See South Carolina Code 40-29-20
A person who knowingly violates the provisions of this chapter or regulations promulgated thereunder and thereby threatens or injures the health or safety of a consumer is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned for not more than two years, or both.
