Terms Used In Tennessee Code 47-18-4902
- Consumer: means an individual who is a resident of the state. See Tennessee Code 47-18-4902
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Deidentified data: means data that:
(A) (i) Cannot reasonably be linked to an identifiable individual. See Tennessee Code 47-18-4902 - DNA: means deoxyribonucleic acid. See Tennessee Code 47-18-4902
- Genetic data: means data, excluding deidentified data, regardless of format, concerning a consumer's genetic characteristics, including:
(A) Raw sequence data that results from sequencing all or a portion of a consumer's extracted DNA. See Tennessee Code 47-18-4902 - Genetic testing: means :
(A) A laboratory test of a consumer's complete DNA, regions of DNA, chromosomes, genes, or gene products to determine the presence of genetic characteristics of the consumer. See Tennessee Code 47-18-4902 - Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
