Terms Used In Tennessee Code 8-36-704
- Member: means any person included in the membership of the retirement system, as provided in chapter 35, part 1 of this title. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101
- Retirement: means withdrawal from membership with a retirement allowance granted under chapters 34-37 of this title. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101
- Retirement system: means the Tennessee consolidated retirement system as defined in §. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101
- State: means the state of Tennessee. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101
Any retired member of the Tennessee teachers’ retirement system, Tennessee state retirement system, Group 1 of the Tennessee consolidated retirement system and of any local retirement system who retired prior to July 1, 1972, or thereafter, shall have such member’s benefits recomputed under the existing provisions of the Tennessee consolidated retirement system. Any increase resulting from such recomputation shall be in addition to those provided by § 8-36-701.
