Terms Used In Tennessee Code > Title 47 > Chapter 18 > Part 22 - Video Consumer Privacy
- Consumer: means any renter, purchaser, or subscriber of goods or services from a video tape service provider or video tape seller. See Tennessee Code 47-18-2203
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.

- Personally identifiable information: means any information which identifies a person as having requested or obtained specific video materials or services from a video tape service provider or video tape seller. See Tennessee Code 47-18-2203
- Record: means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in a perceivable form. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
- United States: includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- Video tape seller: means any person engaged in the business of selling prerecorded video cassette tapes or similar audio visual materials. See Tennessee Code 47-18-2203
- Video tape service provider: means any person engaged in the business of rental of prerecorded video cassette tapes or similar audio visual materials. See Tennessee Code 47-18-2203
- written: includes printing, typewriting, engraving, lithography, and any other mode of representing words and letters. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
