- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- Foreign trade zone: means a foreign trade zone established pursuant to 19 U. See Tennessee Code 7-85-102
- Municipal corporation: means an incorporated city or town. See Tennessee Code 7-1-101
- Person: includes a corporation, firm, company or association. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.
- Public corporation: means the state of Tennessee, any political subdivision or public agency of the state, any municipal corporation formed under the laws of the state of Tennessee, or any corporate instrumentality of the state of Tennessee, of any political subdivision or public agency of the corporate instrumentality, or of such a municipal corporation. - quarantine: means the limitation of a person's freedom of movement, isolation of a person, or preventing or restricting access to premises upon which the person or the cause or source of a disease may be found, for a period of time as may be necessary to confirm or establish a diagnosis, to determine the cause or source of a disease, or to prevent the spread of a disease. See Tennessee Code 68-1-201
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- United States: includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
