(a) In addition to any other remedy, the attorney general, the municipal attorney of the municipality in which a violation under § 16.352 occurs, or the county or district attorney of the county in which a violation under § 16.352 occurs may apply to a district court for, and the district court may grant, the state or the political subdivision an appropriate prohibitory or mandatory order, including a temporary restraining order or a temporary or permanent injunction, enjoining a violation of this subchapter, the rules described by § 16.352, or Subchapter B or C, Chapter 232, Local Government Code.
(b) An injunction issued under this section may be issued without the requirement of a bond or other undertaking.

  • Temporary restraining order: Prohibits a person from an action that is likely to cause irreparable harm. This differs from an injunction in that it may be granted immediately, without notice to the opposing party, and without a hearing. It is intended to last only until a hearing can be held.
