(1) “Person” means any natural person, corporation, partnership, firm or association; and

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 62-25-102

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Person: means any natural person, corporation, partnership, firm or association. See Tennessee Code 62-25-102
(2) “Rental location agent” means any person who engages in or is employed in the business of locating, providing assistance in locating or furnishing information concerning the location or availability of real property, including apartment housing, that may be leased or rented as a private dwelling, abode or place of residence and who receives or solicits a fee or other valuable consideration from a prospective tenant.
