(1) This chapter does not apply to:
Terms Used In Utah Code 13-10-5
- Litigation: A case, controversy, or lawsuit. Participants (plaintiffs and defendants) in lawsuits are called litigants.
- Person: means :(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(1)(a) any person engaged in radio or television broadcasting or cable television who transfers, or causes to be transferred, any of the sounds referred to in Sections 13-10-3 and 13-10-4 (other than from the sound track of a motion picture) intended for, or in connection with, broadcast transmission or for archival purposes; or
(1)(b) any person transferring any such sounds without any compensation being derived by this person or any other person from the transfer.
(2) This chapter shall neither enlarge nor diminish the rights of parties in civil litigation.
