Terms Used In Utah Code 34A-7-101

  • Vessel: when used with reference to shipping, includes a steamboat, canal boat, and every structure adapted to be navigated from place to place. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) industrial or manufacturing establishments;
     (1)(b) business establishments;
     (1)(c) sawmills;
     (1)(d) construction jobs; and
     (1)(e) any place where workers or the public may be exposed to risks from the operation of boilers or pressure vessels.
(2) This part does not apply to:

     (2)(a) a boiler or pressure vessel subject to inspection, control, or regulation under the terms of any law or regulation of the federal government or any of its agencies;
     (2)(b) an air tank located on a vehicle used for transporting passengers or freight; or
     (2)(c) a boiler or pressure vessel that is excluded from the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
