(1) The following information for each male United States citizen or immigrant under the age of 26 shall be electronically transmitted by the division to the Selective Service System:

Terms Used In Utah Code 53-3-234

  • Division: means the Driver License Division of the department created in Section 53-3-103. See Utah Code 53-3-102
  • License: means the privilege to drive a motor vehicle. See Utah Code 53-3-102
  • Male: means the characteristic of an individual whose biological reproductive system is of the general type that functions to fertilize the ova of a female. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
  • Operate: means the same as that term is defined in Section 41-1a-102. See Utah Code 53-3-102
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
  • United States: includes each state, district, and territory of the United States of America. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
  • Vehicle: means every device in, upon, or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a highway, excepting devices used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. See Utah Code 53-1-102
     (1)(a) name;
     (1)(b) address;
     (1)(c) Social Security number; and
     (1)(d) date of birth.
(2) Each application for any type of license to operate a motor vehicle in this state shall contain the following statement which must be acknowledged by the applicant:

     “By submitting this application, I am consenting to registration with the Selective Service System, if required by federal law.”

(3) Refusal to consent to the release of information to the Selective Service System shall result in the denial of the license.
