Terms Used In Utah Code 53-3-807
- Division: means the Driver License Division of the department created in Section
53-3-103 . See Utah Code 53-3-102 - Extension: means a renewal completed in a manner specified by the division. See Utah Code 53-3-102
- Identification card: means a card for identification issued under this part. See Utah Code 53-3-802
- Limited-term identification card: means an identification card issued under this chapter to a person whose card was obtained by providing evidence of lawful presence in the United States with one of the document requirements described in Subsection
53-3-804 (2)(i)(ii). See Utah Code 53-3-102 - Person: means :(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Regular identification card: means an identification card issued under this chapter to a person whose card was obtained by providing evidence of lawful presence in the United States with one of the document requirements described in Subsection
53-3-804 (2)(i)(i). See Utah Code 53-3-102- Sex: means , in relation to an individual, the individual's biological sex, either male or female, at birth, according to distinct reproductive roles as manifested by:
(34)(a) sex and reproductive organ anatomy;(34)(b) chromosomal makeup; and(34)(c) endogenous hormone profiles. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5- United States: includes each state, district, and territory of the United States of America. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(1)(a) A regular identification card expires on the birth date of the applicant in the fifth year after the issuance of the regular identification card.(1)(b) A limited-term identification card expires on:(1)(b)(i) the expiration date of the period of time of the individual’s authorized stay in the United States or on the birth date of the applicant in the fifth year after the issuance of the limited-term identification card, whichever is sooner; or(1)(b)(ii) on the date of issuance in the first year after the year that the limited-term identification card was issued if there is no definite end to the individual’s period of authorized stay.(2)(2)(a) Except as provided in Subsection (2)(b), if an individual has applied for and received an identification card and subsequently moves from the address shown on the application or on the card, the individual shall, within 10 days after the day on which the individual moves, notify the division in a manner specified by the division of the individual’s new address.(2)(b) If an individual who is required to register as a sex offender, kidnap offender, or child abuse offender under Title 77, Chapter 41, Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry, has applied for and received an identification card and subsequently moves from the address shown on the application or on the card, the individual shall, within 30 days after the day on which the individual moves, apply for an updated identification card in-person at a division office.(3) If an individual has applied for and received an identification card and subsequently changes the individual’s name under Title 42, Chapter 1, Change of Name, the individual:(3)(a) shall surrender the card to the division; and(3)(b) may apply for a new card in the individual’s new name by:(3)(b)(i) furnishing proper documentation to the division as provided in Section53-3-804 ; and(3)(b)(ii) paying the fee required under Section53-3-105 .(4) A person 21 years old or older with a disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Pub. L. 101-336, may extend the expiration date on an identification card for five years if the person with a disability or an agent of the person with a disability:(4)(a) requests that the division send the application form to obtain the extension or requests an application form in person at the division’s offices;(4)(b) completes the application;(4)(c) certifies that the extension is for a person 21 years old or older with a disability; and(4)(d) returns the application to the division together with the identification card fee required under Section53-3-105 .(5)(5)(a) The division may extend a valid regular identification card issued after January 1, 2010, for five years at any time within six months before the day on which the identification card expires.(5)(b) The application for an extension of a regular identification card is accompanied by a fee under Section53-3-105 .(5)(c) The division shall allow extensions:(5)(c)(i) by mail, electronic means, or other means as determined by the division at the appropriate extension fee rate under Section53-3-105 ; and(5)(c)(ii) only if the applicant qualifies under this section.(6)(6)(a) A regular identification card may only be extended once under Subsections (4) and (5).(6)(b) After an extension an application for an identification card must be applied for in person at the division’s offices. - Regular identification card: means an identification card issued under this chapter to a person whose card was obtained by providing evidence of lawful presence in the United States with one of the document requirements described in Subsection
