As used in this chapter:
(1) “Firearm” means a device from which is expelled a projectile by action of an explosive.

- Firearm: means a device from which is expelled a projectile by action of an explosive. See Utah Code 53-5b-103
- Firearm accessory: means an item that is used in conjunction with or mounted upon a firearm, firearm action, or firearm receiver but is not essential to the basic function of a firearm, including:(2)(a) a telescopic or laser sight;(2)(b) a magazine;(2)(c) a flash or sound suppressor;(2)(d) a folding or aftermarket stock or grip;(2)(e) a speed-loader;(2)(f) an ammunition carrier; and(2)(g) a light for target illumination. - Process: means a writ or summons issued in the course of a judicial proceeding. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) “Firearm accessory” means an item that is used in conjunction with or mounted upon a firearm, firearm action, or firearm receiver but is not essential to the basic function of a firearm, including:
(2)(a) a telescopic or laser sight;
(2)(b) a magazine;
(2)(c) a flash or sound suppressor;
(2)(d) a folding or aftermarket stock or grip;
(2)(e) a speed-loader;
(2)(f) an ammunition carrier; and
(2)(g) a light for target illumination.
(3) “Generic and insignificant parts:”
(3)(a) means parts that have other manufacturing or consumer product applications; and
(3)(b) includes:
(3)(b)(i) springs;
(3)(b)(ii) screws;
(3)(b)(iii) nuts; and
(3)(b)(iv) pins.
(4) “Manufactured” means creating a firearm, a firearm action or receiver, a firearm accessory, or ammunition from basic materials for functional usefulness, including:
(4)(a) forging;
(4)(b) casting;
(4)(c) machining; and
(4)(d) another process for working materials.
