(1) There is created the Electrification of Transportation Infrastructure Steering Committee.
Terms Used In Utah Code 53B-18-1803
- Board: means the Utah Board of Higher Education described in Section 53B-1-402. See Utah Code 53B-1-101.5
- Department of Environmental Quality: means the Department of Environmental Quality created in Section 19-1-104. See Utah Code 53B-18-1801
- Department of Transportation: means the Department of Transportation created in Section 72-1-201. See Utah Code 53B-18-1801
- Initiative: means the strategic planning and development initiative to guide the transition to an electrified and intelligent transportation system in this state. See Utah Code 53B-18-1801
- Large public transit district: means the same as that term is defined in Section 17B-2a-802. See Utah Code 53B-18-1801
- Office of Energy Development: means the Office of Energy Development created in Section 79-6-401. See Utah Code 53B-18-1801
- Project director: means the project director of the research center appointed under Subsection 53B-18-1802(2)(b). See Utah Code 53B-18-1801
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Steering committee: means the Electrification of Transportation Infrastructure Steering Committee created in Section 53B-18-1803. See Utah Code 53B-18-1801
(2) The Electrification of Transportation Infrastructure Steering Committee consists of the following members:
(2)(a) the executive director of the Department of Transportation, or the executive director’s designee;
(2)(b) the executive director of the Department of Environmental Quality, or the executive director’s designee;
(2)(c) the director of the Office of Energy Development, or the director’s designee;
(2)(d) the executive director of a large public transit district, or the executive director’s designee;
(2)(e) the executive director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, or the executive director’s designee;
(2)(f) one representative of a major electrical power provider in the state, appointed by the governor; and
(2)(g) the chair of the industry advisory board created in Section 53B-18-1804.
(3) The steering committee member representing the Department of Transportation shall serve as the chair of the steering committee.
(4) The steering committee shall:
(4)(a) provide direction to the project director on the nature and priorities of the strategic planning and development initiative;
(4)(b) assist the project director in the development of a strategic action plan and implementation related to the electrification of transportation infrastructure;
(4)(c) approve annual reports on the strategic planning and development initiative as required in Section 53B-18-1806;
(4)(d) consider and approve the budget proposed by the project director for the expenditure of funds for the initiative; and
(4)(e) review expenditures authorized by the project director made before October 1, 2023.
(5) The steering committee shall convene no later than October 1, 2023.
