(1) A local school board shall develop an educator evaluation program in consultation with its joint committee.
Terms Used In Utah Code 53G-11-506
- district: means :(14)(a) a public school district; or(14)(b) the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. See Utah Code 53G-11-501
- Educator: means an individual employed by a school district who is required to hold a professional license issued by the state board, except:
(7)(a) a superintendent; or(7)(b) an individual who works less than three hours per day or is hired for less than half of a school year. See Utah Code 53G-11-501- Equal: means , with respect to biological sex, of the same value. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Joint committee: Committees including membership from both houses of teh legislature. Joint committees are usually established with narrow jurisdictions and normally lack authority to report legislation.
- School board: means a local school board or, for the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, the state board. See Utah Code 53G-11-501
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) The joint committee described in Subsection (1) shall consist of an equal number of classroom teachers, parents, and administrators appointed by the local school board.(3) A local school board may appoint members of the joint committee from a list of nominees:(3)(a) voted on by classroom teachers in a nomination election;(3)(b) voted on by the administrators in a nomination election; and(3)(c) of parents submitted by school community councils within the district.(4) Subject to Subsection (5), the joint committee may:(4)(a) adopt or adapt an evaluation program for educators based on a model developed by the state board; or(4)(b) create the local school board’s own evaluation program for educators.(5) The evaluation program developed by the joint committee shall comply with the requirements of Sections 53G-11-507 through 53G-11-511 and rules adopted by the state board under Section 53G-11-510. - Educator: means an individual employed by a school district who is required to hold a professional license issued by the state board, except:
