(1) There is created a body politic and corporate known as the Utah Charter School Finance Authority. The authority is created to provide an efficient and cost-effective method of financing charter school facilities.

- Authority: means the Utah Charter School Finance Authority created by this part. See Utah Code 53G-5-601
- Board: means the governing board of the authority described in Section 53G-5-602. See Utah Code 53G-5-601
- Charter school: means a school created under this chapter. See Utah Code 53G-5-601
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) The governing board of the authority shall be composed of:
(2)(a) the governor or the governor’s designee;
(2)(b) the state treasurer; and
(2)(c) the state superintendent or the state superintendent’s designee.
(3) A member may not receive compensation or benefits for the member’s service, but may receive per diem and travel expenses in accordance with:
(3)(a) Section 63A-3-106;
(3)(b) Section 63A-3-107; and
(4) Upon request, the state board shall provide staff support to the authority.
