(1) There is created a Health Facility Administrators Licensing Board consisting of:
Terms Used In Utah Code 58-15-201
- Administrator: means a person who is charged with the general administration of a health facility, regardless of whether:(1)(a) the person has an ownership interest in the facility; or(1)(b) the person's functions and duties are shared with one or more persons. See Utah Code 58-15-101
- Board: means the Health Facility Administrators Licensing Board created in Section 58-15-201. See Utah Code 58-15-101
- Division: means the Division of Professional Licensing created in Section
58-1-103 . See Utah Code 58-1-102- Health facility: means a skilled nursing facility, an intermediate care facility, or an intermediate care facility for individuals with an intellectual disability. See Utah Code 58-15-101
- Intellectual disability: means a significant, subaverage general intellectual functioning that:
(16)(a) exists concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior; and(16)(b) is manifested during the developmental period as defined in the current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, published by the American Psychiatric Association. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5- Intermediate care facility: means an institution that provides, on a regular basis, health care and services to individuals who do not require the degree of care and treatment a hospital or skilled nursing facility provides, but who require health care and services in addition to room and board. See Utah Code 58-15-101
- Skilled nursing facility: means an institution primarily providing inpatients with skilled nursing care and related services on a continuing basis for patients who require mental, medical, or nursing care, or service for the rehabilitation of an injured individual, a sick individual, or an individual with a disability. See Utah Code 58-15-101
(1)(a) one administrator from a skilled nursing facility;(1)(b) two administrators from intermediate care facilities;(1)(c) one administrator from an intermediate care facility for people with an intellectual disability; and(1)(d) one member from the general public.(2) The board shall be appointed and serve in accordance with Section 58-1-201.(3)(3)(a) The duties and responsibilities of the board shall be in accordance with Sections 58-1-202 and 58-1-203.(3)(b) The board, in collaboration with the division, may establish continuing education requirements by rule.(3)(c) Board members may not receive compensation for their involvement in continuing education programs.
