(1) There is created the Utah Population Committee composed of the following members:

Terms Used In Utah Code 63C-20-103

  • committee: means the Utah Population Committee created by this chapter. See Utah Code 63C-20-102
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) the director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah or the director’s designee;
     (1)(b) the director of the Population Research Laboratory at Utah State University or the director’s designee;
     (1)(c) the state planning coordinator appointed under Section 63J-4-401;
     (1)(d) the director of the Workforce Research and Analysis Division within the Department of Workforce Services or the director’s designee;
     (1)(e) the director of the Office of Vital Records and Statistics or the director’s designee;
     (1)(f) the state superintendent of public instruction or the superintendent’s designee;
     (1)(g) the chair of the State Tax Commission or the chair’s designee;
     (1)(h) the legislative fiscal analyst or the legislative fiscal analyst’s designee;
     (1)(i) the commissioner of higher education or the commissioner’s designee; and
     (1)(j) any additional member appointed under Subsection (2).

     (2)(a) By a majority vote of the members of the committee, the committee may appoint one or more additional members to serve on the committee at the pleasure of the committee.
     (2)(b) The committee shall ensure that each additional member appointed under Subsection (2)(a) is a data provider or a representative of a data provider.
(3) The director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute or the director’s designee described in Subsection (1)(a) is the chair of the committee.
