The committee shall:
(1) prepare annual population estimates for the total population of the state and each county in the state;

- committee: means the Utah Population Committee created by this chapter. See Utah Code 63C-20-102
- Sex: means , in relation to an individual, the individual's biological sex, either male or female, at birth, according to distinct reproductive roles as manifested by:(34)(a) sex and reproductive organ anatomy;(34)(b) chromosomal makeup; and(34)(c) endogenous hormone profiles. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- United States: includes each state, district, and territory of the United States of America. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) review and comment on the methodologies and population estimates for all geographic levels for the state that the United States Bureau of the Census produces;(3) prepare place estimates for new political subdivision annexations and incorporations in the state;(4) prepare additional demographic estimates for the state that may include estimates related to race, ethnicity, age, sex, religious affiliation, or economic status; and(5) publish the estimates described in Subsections (1), (3), and (4) on the committee’s website.
