(1) There is created within the Department of Natural Resources the Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office to be administered by an executive director.

- Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
- Executive director: means the public lands policy executive director appointed under Section 63L-11-201. See Utah Code 63L-11-102
- Office: means the Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office created in Section 63L-11-201. See Utah Code 63L-11-102
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) The executive director shall be appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the Senate and shall serve at the pleasure of the governor.
(3) The executive director shall have demonstrated the necessary administrative and professional ability through education and experience to efficiently and effectively manage the office’s affairs.

(4)(a) The executive director and employees of the office shall receive compensation as provided in Title 63A, Chapter 17, Utah State Personnel Management Act.
(4)(b) The office space for the executive director and employees of the office shall be in a building where the Department of Natural Resources is located.
