(1) As used in this section:
Terms Used In Utah Code 63L-11-304
- Office: means the Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office created in Section 63L-11-201. See Utah Code 63L-11-102
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(1)(a) “Public lands” means the same as that term is defined in Section 63L-6-102 .
(1)(b) “Transfer of public lands” means the transfer of public lands from federal ownership to state ownership.
(2) The office shall, on an ongoing basis, report to the Federalism Commission regarding the ramifications and economic impacts of the transfer of public lands.
(3) The office shall:
(3)(a) on an ongoing basis, discuss issues related to the transfer of public lands with:
(3)(a)(i) the School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration;
(3)(a)(ii) local governments;
(3)(a)(iii) water managers;
(3)(a)(iv) environmental advocates;
(3)(a)(v) outdoor recreation advocates;
(3)(a)(vi) nonconventional , renewable, and clean energy producers;
(3)(a)(vii) tourism representatives;
(3)(a)(viii) wilderness advocates;
(3)(a)(ix) ranchers and agriculture advocates;
(3)(a)(x) oil, gas, and mining producers;
(3)(a)(xi) fishing, hunting, and other wildlife interests;
(3)(a)(xii) timber producers;
(3)(a)(xiii) other interested parties; and
(3)(a)(xiv) the Federalism Commission; and
(3)(b) develop ways to obtain input from citizens of the state regarding the transfer of public lands and the future care and use of public lands.
