As used in this part:
(1) “County clerk” means:
Terms Used In Utah Code 81-2-301
- Bankruptcy: Refers to statutes and judicial proceedings involving persons or businesses that cannot pay their debts and seek the assistance of the court in getting a fresh start. Under the protection of the bankruptcy court, debtors may discharge their debts, perhaps by paying a portion of each debt. Bankruptcy judges preside over these proceedings.
- County clerk: means :(1)(a) the county clerk of the county; or(1)(b) an employee or designee of the county clerk who is authorized to issue marriage licenses or solemnize marriages. See Utah Code 81-2-301
- Court: means :
(2)(a) a judge; or(2)(b) a court commissioner if the court commissioner has authority to hear the matter under Section78A-5-107 or the Utah Rules of Judicial Administration. See Utah Code 81-1-101- Man: means an adult human male. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Person: means :
(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5- United States: includes each state, district, and territory of the United States of America. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Woman: means an adult human female. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(1)(a) the county clerk of the county; or(1)(b) an employee or designee of the county clerk who is authorized to issue marriage licenses or solemnize marriages.(2) “Judge or magistrate of the United States” means:(2)(a) a justice of the United States Supreme Court;(2)(b) a judge of a court of appeals;(2)(c) a judge of a district court;(2)(d) a judge of any court created by an act of Congress, the judges of which are entitled to hold office during good behavior;(2)(e) a judge of a bankruptcy court;(2)(f) a judge of a tax court; or(2)(g) a United States magistrate.(3) “Minor” means an individual who is 16 or 17 years old.(4)(4)(a) “Native American spiritual advisor” means an individual who:(4)(a)(i) leads, instructs, or facilitates a Native American religious ceremony or service or provides religious counseling; and(4)(a)(ii) is recognized as a spiritual advisor by a federally recognized Native American tribe.(4)(b) “Native American spiritual advisor” includes a sweat lodge leader, medicine person, traditional religious practitioner, or holy man or woman. - Court: means :
