(1) The commission shall:

- Commission: means the Pete Suazo Utah Athletic Commission created by this chapter. See Utah Code 9-23-101
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
(1)(a) purchase and use a seal;
(1)(b) adopt rules for the administration of this chapter in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act;
(1)(c) prepare all forms of contracts between sponsors, licensees, promoters, and contestants; and
(1)(d) hold hearings relating to matters under its jurisdiction, including violations of this chapter or rules made under this chapter.
(2) The commission may subpoena witnesses, take evidence, and require the production of books, papers, documents, records, contracts, recordings, tapes, correspondence, or other information relevant to an investigation if the commission or its designee considers it necessary.
