- Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
- Attack: means a nuclear, cyber, conventional, biological, act of terrorism, or chemical warfare action against the United States of America or this state. See Utah Code 53-2a-102
- Disaster: means an event that:(5)(a) causes, or threatens to cause, loss of life, human suffering, public or private property damage, or economic or social disruption resulting from attack, internal disturbance, natural phenomena, or technological hazard; and(5)(b) requires resources that are beyond the scope of local agencies in routine responses to emergencies and accidents and may be of a magnitude or involve unusual circumstances that require response by government, not-for-profit, or private entities. - Energy: includes the energy resources defined in this chapter. See Utah Code 53-2a-102
- Expenses: means actual labor costs of government and volunteer personnel, and materials. See Utah Code 53-2a-102
- Person: means :
(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5- Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- State of emergency: means a condition in any part of this state that requires state government emergency assistance to supplement the local efforts of the affected political subdivision to save lives and to protect property, public health, welfare, or safety in the event of a disaster, or to avoid or reduce the threat of a disaster. See Utah Code 53-2a-102
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
- Technological hazard: means any hazardous materials accident, mine accident, train derailment, air crash, radiation incident, pollution, structural fire, or explosion. See Utah Code 53-2a-102
- Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
- United States: includes each state, district, and territory of the United States of America. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Writing: includes :
(48)(a) printing;(48)(b) handwriting; and(48)(c) information stored in an electronic or other medium if the information is retrievable in a perceivable format. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
