- Ambulance: means a ground, air, or water vehicle that:(2)(a) transports patients and is used to provide emergency medical services; and(2)(b) is required to obtain a permit under Section
53-2d-404 to operate in the state. See Utah Code 53-2d-101- Bureau: means the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services created in Section
53-2d-102 . See Utah Code 53-2d-101- Committee: means the Trauma System and Emergency Medical Services Committee created by Section
53-2d-104 . See Utah Code 53-2d-101- Department: means the Department of Public Safety created in Section
53-1-103 . See Utah Code 53-1-102- Emergency medical services: means :
(15)(a) medical services;(15)(b) transportation services;(15)(c) behavioral emergency services; or(15)(d) any combination of the services described in Subsections (15)(a) through (c). See Utah Code 53-2d-101- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Paramedic provider: means an entity that:
(23)(a) employs emergency medical service personnel; and(23)(b) is required to obtain a license under Part 5, Ambulance and Paramedic Providers. See Utah Code 53-2d-101- Person: means :
(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5- Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
- Sex: means , in relation to an individual, the individual's biological sex, either male or female, at birth, according to distinct reproductive roles as manifested by:
(34)(a) sex and reproductive organ anatomy;(34)(b) chromosomal makeup; and(34)(c) endogenous hormone profiles. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
- Vehicle: means every device in, upon, or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a highway, excepting devices used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. See Utah Code 53-1-102
- Venue: The geographical location in which a case is tried.
- Bureau: means the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services created in Section
