- Account: means the Performance Funding Restricted Account created in Section
53B-7-703 . See Utah Code 53B-7-702 - Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Baseline: Projection of the receipts, outlays, and other budget amounts that would ensue in the future without any change in existing policy. Baseline projections are used to gauge the extent to which proposed legislation, if enacted into law, would alter current spending and revenue levels.
- Board: means the Utah Board of Higher Education described in Section 53B-1-402. See Utah Code 53B-1-101.5
- degree-granting institution: means an institution of higher education described in Subsection 53B-1-102(1)(a). See Utah Code 53B-1-101.5
- Equal: means , with respect to biological sex, of the same value. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Estimated revenue growth from targeted jobs: means the estimated increase in individual income tax revenue generated by individuals employed in targeted jobs, determined in accordance with Sections
53B-7-703 and53B-7-704 . See Utah Code 53B-7-702 - Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- Full new performance funding amount: means the maximum amount of new performance funding that a degree-granting institution or technical college may qualify for in a fiscal year, determined by the Legislature in accordance with Section
53B-7-705 . See Utah Code 53B-7-702 - Full-time: means the number of credit hours the board determines is full-time enrollment for a student. See Utah Code 53B-7-702
- Legislative session: That part of a chamber's daily session in which it considers legislative business (bills, resolutions, and actions related thereto).
- New performance funding: means the difference between the total amount of money in the account and the amount of money appropriated from the account for performance funding in the current fiscal year. See Utah Code 53B-7-702
- Performance: means total performance across the metrics described in Section
53B-7-706 . See Utah Code 53B-7-702 - Process: means a writ or summons issued in the course of a judicial proceeding. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Technical college: means :(8)(a) the same as that term is defined in Section
