Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 20 Sec. 1820
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- Unemancipated minor: means an individual under the age of majority who has not married and who resides with a parent or legal guardian. See
§ 1820. Definitions
As used in this chapter:
(1) “Missing person” means an individual:
(A) whose whereabouts is unknown; and
(B)(i) with either a physical disability, a mental disability, or a developmental disability; or
(ii) who is an unemancipated minor.
(2) “Unemancipated minor” means an individual under the age of majority who has not married and who resides with a parent or legal guardian. (Added 1985, No. 254 (Adj. Sess.), § 1, eff. June 4, 1986; amended 2013, No. 26, § 1, eff. May 13, 2013.)
