Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 32 Sec. 544

  • Fees: shall mean earnings due for official services, aside from salaries or per diem compensation. See
  • Juror: A person who is on the jury.
  • State: means the State of Vermont; a county, a municipality, or other subdivision thereof; commission, board, department, or agency thereof; or any other governmental entity authorized or created by State law, including public corporations and authorities. See

§ 544. Judge may pay witnesses

The judge or clerk of each Criminal Division of the Superior Court shall pay from any fines and costs in his or her hands belonging to the State all juror and witness fees payable by the State and shall take the receipts of persons receiving the same.
