Terms Used In West Virginia Code > Chapter 33 > Article 20D - Tail Insurance
- Amortization: Paying off a loan by regular installments.
- Claims made malpractice insurance policy: means a policy which covers claims which are reported during the policy period, meet the provisions specified by the policy, and are for an incident which occurred during the policy period, or occurred prior to the policy period, as is specified by the policy. See West Virginia Code 33-20D-2
- in writing: includes any representation of words, letters, or figures, whether by printing, engraving, writing, or otherwise. See West Virginia Code 2-2-10
- State: when applied to a part of the United States and not restricted by the context, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" also include the said district and territories. See West Virginia Code 2-2-10
- Tail insurance: means insurance which covers a professional insured once a claims made malpractice insurance policy is cancelled, not renewed or terminated and covers claims made after such cancellation or termination for acts occurring during the period the prior malpractice insurance was in effect. See West Virginia Code 33-20D-2
