Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 20.585

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Following: when used by way of reference to any statute section, means the section next following that in which the reference is made. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
  • Property: includes real and personal property. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
  • State: when applied to states of the United States, includes the District of Columbia, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the several territories organized by Congress. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
   (1)   Custodian of state funds.
20.585(1)(b)    (b) Insurance. The amounts in the schedule for burglary and robbery insurance, which shall be purchased from the lowest responsible bidder under s. 16.75 (1).
      (h)    Training conferences. All moneys received from participants in conferences conducted by the state treasurer under s. 14.59, for the purpose of payment of the costs of conducting such conferences.
      (i)    Gifts and grants. All moneys received from gifts, grants and bequests made for the operations of the office of the state treasurer to carry out the purposes for which the gifts, grants and bequests are made.
      (k)    Administrative expenses. From moneys transferred from the appropriation account under s. 20.566 (4) (j), the amounts in the schedule for the promotion of the unclaimed property program under ch. 177. Notwithstanding s. 20.001 (3) (a), at the end of each fiscal year the unencumbered balance in this appropriation shall revert to the appropriation under s. 20.566 (4) (j).
