- Bank: means any of the following:
(a) A banking institution organized under the laws of the United States. See Wisconsin Statutes 551.102Bingo: as used in this chapter shall not mean any game using free cards and donated prizes, if any, for which no payment of consideration is made by participants. See Wisconsin Statutes 563.03 Bingo occasion: means a single gathering or session at which a series of successive bingo games is played. See Wisconsin Statutes 563.03 Bingo supplies and equipment: means all cards, boards, sheets, markers, pads or other supplies, devices or equipment designed for use in the play of bingo. See Wisconsin Statutes 563.03 Broker-dealer: means a person engaged in the business of effecting transactions in securities for the account of others or for the person's own account. See Wisconsin Statutes 551.102 Calendar: means a table or register of days covering not less than one nor more than 12 calendar months that entitles the purchaser to one entry in each drawing in a calendar raffle. See Wisconsin Statutes 563.03 Calendar raffle: means a raffle for which a drawing is held and a prize awarded on each date specified in a calendar. See Wisconsin Statutes 563.03 Certified investor: means an individual who is a resident of this state and who, at the time of an offer or sale of securities, satisfies any of the following:
(a) Has an individual net worth, or joint net worth with the individual's spouse, of at least $750,000. See Wisconsin Statutes 459.01 Chiropractor: means a person holding a license issued by the chiropractic examining board. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01 common enterprise: is a n enterprise in which the fortunes of the investor are tied to the efficacy of the efforts of those seeking the investment or a third party. See Wisconsin Statutes 551.102 Common law: The legal system that originated in England and is now in use in the United States. It is based on judicial decisions rather than legislative action. Communicable disease: means any disease that the department of health services determines, by rule, to be communicable in fact. See Wisconsin Statutes 563.03 Deceptive advertising: means creating, using, or promoting the use of any advertising material, promotional literature, testimonial, guarantee, warranty, label, brand, insignia, or other representation, however disseminated or published, which is misleading, false, or untruthful. See Wisconsin Statutes 459.01 Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another. Department: means the department of administration. See Wisconsin Statutes 551.102 Investment adviser: means a person that, for compensation, engages in the business of advising others, either directly or through publications, writings, or electronic means, as to the value of securities or the advisability of investing in, purchasing, or selling securities or that, for compensation and as a part of a regular business, issues or promulgates analyses or reports concerning securities. See Wisconsin Statutes 551.102 Investment adviser representative: means an individual employed by or associated with an investment adviser or federal covered investment adviser and who makes any recommendations or otherwise gives investment advice regarding securities, manages accounts or portfolios of clients, determines which recommendation or advice regarding securities should be given, provides investment advice or holds herself or himself out as providing investment advice, receives compensation to solicit, offer, or negotiate for the sale of or for selling investment advice, or supervises employees who perform any of the foregoing. (a) The issuer of a voting trust certificate, collateral trust certificate, certificate of deposit for a security, or share in an investment company without a board of directors or individuals performing similar functions is the person performing the acts and assuming the duties of depositor or manager pursuant to the trust or other agreement or instrument under which the security is issued.
