The council shall:
1. Approve the comprehensive substance use disorder program, developed by the department pursuant to sections 125.1 through 125.3, this section, and sections 125.9, 125.10, 125.12 through 125.21, 125.25, 125.32 through 125.34, and 125.37 through 125.43.
Terms Used In Iowa Code 125.7
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Board: means the board of hearing aid specialists. See Iowa Code 154A.1
- Department: means the department of inspections, appeals, and licensing. See Iowa Code 154A.1
- License: means a license issued by the state under this chapter to a hearing aid specialist. See Iowa Code 154A.1
- State: means a state, territory, or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See Iowa Code 152E.3
2. Advise the department on policies governing the performance of the department in the discharge of any duties imposed on the department by law.
3. Advise or make recommendations to the governor and the general assembly relative to substance use disorder treatment, intervention, education, and prevention programs in this state.
4. Adopt rules for subsections 1 and 6 and review other rules necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter, subject to review in accordance with chapter 17A.
5. Investigate the work of the department relating to substance use disorder, and for this purpose the council shall have access at any time to all books, papers, documents, and records of the department.
6. Consider and approve or disapprove all applications for a license and all cases involving the renewal, denial, suspension, or revocation of a license.
7. Act as the appeal board regarding funding decisions made by the department.
