The Cabinet for Health and Family Services shall promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A that establish security requirements for all prescriptions written by practitioners. The administrative regulations shall include a procedure to obtain a waiver for prescription blanks that provide substantially equivalent protection against forgery.

Terms Used In Kentucky Statutes 218A.204
- Cabinet: means the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. See Kentucky Statutes 218A.010
- Forgery: The fraudulent signing or alteration of another's name to an instrument such as a deed, mortgage, or check. The intent of the forgery is to deceive or defraud. Source: OCC
- Prescription: means a written, electronic, or oral order for a drug or medicine, or combination or mixture of drugs or medicines, or proprietary preparation, signed or given or authorized by a medical, dental, chiropody, veterinarian, optometric practitioner, or advanced practice registered nurse, and intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease in man or other animals.
