North Carolina General Statutes 108A-70.43. Reporting
No later than November 1 of each year, the Department shall submit a report for the prior fiscal year to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Medicaid, the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services, and the Fiscal Research Division containing the following information:
(1) The annual statewide percentage of Medicaid applications processed in a timely manner for the fiscal year.

- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- following: when used by way of reference to any section of a statute, shall be construed to mean the section next preceding or next following that in which such reference is made; unless when some other section is expressly designated in such reference. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3
- month: shall be construed to mean a calendar month, unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone shall be equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3
- Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.
(2) The statewide average number of days to process Medicaid applications for each month in the fiscal year.
(3) The annual percentage of Medicaid applications processed in a timely manner by each county department of social services for the fiscal year.
(4) The average number of days to process Medicaid applications for each month for each county department of social services.
(5) The number of months during the fiscal year that each county department of social services met the timely processing standards under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 108A-70.38
(6) The number of months during the fiscal year that each county department of social services failed to meet the timely processing standards under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 108A-70.38
(7) A description of all corrective action activities conducted by the Department and county departments of social services in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. § 108A-70.36
(8) A description of how the Department plans to assist county departments of social services in meeting timely processing standards for Medicaid applications, for every county in which the performance metrics for processing Medicaid applications in a timely manner do not show significant improvement compared to the previous fiscal year.
