- Board: means the North Carolina Board of Agriculture. See North Carolina General Statutes 106-451.7
- Commissioner: means the North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture. See North Carolina General Statutes 106-451.7
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

- Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
